Open source is less about publishing code and more about creating the conditions for other people to participate. That principle appears in projects, guides, classes, and communities.

ReciHub and awesome-hacktoberfest represent two sides of that practice: building local networks and organizing public knowledge to shorten the distance to a first contribution.

This site’s curation is intentionally selective. The goal is not to mirror every repository, but to show decisions that connect engineering, teaching, and community.
